Pokemon Trading Card Game Sun and Moon Expansion Announced With Release Date

The Pokemon trading card game is getting a new Sun & Moon expansion pack, and according to IGN, the expansion will be available on February 3, 2017. The expansion will introduce 140 new cards, and you can purchase the cards at Gamestop, Toys "R" Us, and other hobby stores across United States and Canada.

Alolan variants of classic Pokemon and 40 new Pokemon from Pokemon Sun & Moon will be featured in the new expansion, which will also introduce Pokemon-GX, super-powered Pokemon with "a huge impact on the game," says The Pokemon Company. Those who buy the new Sun & Moon expansion will get the chance to receive Legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala.

Booster packs ($4) and themed decks ($13) of the new expansion will include a code to unlock virtual cards in the Pokemon TCG Online.
