Oscar Isaac Filmed His Last Jedi and Annihilation Roles On The Same Day

Oscar Isaac being a good actor is a universal truth that most people have accepted. Even in bad movies like X-Men: Apocalypse and Sucker Punch, the actor still tried his best. It's clear that he's passionate about his job, hence the varied roles he has in various films. Isaac's passion for acting is so strong, that the actor revealed he would sometimes shoot his roles in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Annihilation on the same day.

Speaking with Slash Film, Isaac said both The Last Jedi and Annihilation were literally in the same studio, so he would sometimes shoot Star Wars material in the day and then head to Alex Garland's sci-fi drama in the afternoon. While it didn't happen all the time, the fact that he had to act in two different films on the same day must have been tiring.

"I would shoot something in the morning and then have a little bit of down time and then switch it up. So that was wild."

In the interview, Annihilation director Alex Garland mentioned that Isaac would sometimes have a lunch break in Star Wars and would be called to shoot for Annihilation. As if that wasn't funny enough, Isaac would sometimes visit Garland's set while wearing his Poe Dameron uniform, which added some much-needed levity to the dark sci-fi film.

Garland also took the time to thank Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman, who were very accommodating about the shooting.

"It makes me want to name-check Rian [Johnson] and Ram [Bergman], the producer on Star Wars [The Last Jedi]. I think because they come from an indie film background, here they are makinglikethe biggest movie of all time, and they were unbelievably helpful and accommodating to us. And they really didn't have to be at all. Most big productions would not even dream of doing that. And they went out of their way – whilst making fucking Star Wars, for Christ's sake – to help this really small movie next door. It was very cool and I'm truly grateful for it, actually."

Annihilation comes out on February 23. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will come to home media soon, with reports claiming that the digital release will be this March.
