Zack Snyder Reveals Green Lantern Actor in Deleted Justice League Scene

Fans have long suspected that Green Lantern was supposed to show up in Justice League and have been hoping that the superhero would eventually make an appearance in the DC Extended Universe. Interestingly, Zack Snyder has confirmed that he had shot a scene featuring John Stewart for the Snyder Cut and has finally revealed the identity of the actor who portrayed the hero.

Snyder had previously admitted that he had shot a scene in his own driveway that would have introduced Green Lantern into the DCEU. Although the filmmaker stated that he completed the scene with an unnamed actor, Snyder also revealed that Warner Bros. had told him to leave the sequence out of the movie.

It's a disappointing revelation but Snyder has given fans hope with some new details. The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director was in attendance at Justice Con 2021 where he revealed that Wayne T. Carr played Green Lantern in the now-deleted Snyder Cut scene.

"He's an amazing actor, an amazingly kind gentleman," Snyder said of Carr. He also added that he tried not to get the actor's hopes up about being in the movie.

"I said, 'Look, there's a chance that this doesn't make it in the movie," Snyder added, saying, "I'm not 100% sure he thought it was real, legit," Snyder said.

Snyder further explained that they had made a CGI suit for Carr in case the scene would be featured in the movie. However, the studio ultimately decided against adding Green Lantern in the Snyder Cut.

Carr has appeared in TV shows like Stuck in the Middle and S.W.A.T. He also had a major role in the webseries Stupid Cupid.

Although we never got to see Carr's Green Lantern, we have an idea of what his scene may have looked like in the Snyder Cut. A version of the sequence still appears in Zack Snyder's Justice League but this time, it features Martian Manhunter.
