Wreck-It-Ralph 2 Writer Reveals How Disney Princesses Scene Was Conceived

There are several awesome things to look forward to in Ralph Breaks The Internet like Gal Gadot's cool new character and a ton of pop culture references. However, people who grew up watching Disney films are undoubtedly excited about the scene featuring all of the beloved princesses. But how exactly did the all-star cameo come to be?

Wreck-It-Ralph 2 writer Pamela Ribon offered some insight on how she came up with the awesome idea (via ComicBook.com). Ribon admitted that she thought it would be cool to see the Disney princesses coming together and accepting Vanellope von Schweetz as a canon princess although she doesn't wear pretty dresses. In addition to that, she wanted to add "a scene that was meta."

"And so I thought, what if, we talked about what if Vanellope met all of the princesses. We thought that might be ... In this version and one of the early versions we thought maybe Vanellope was gonna go viral, and I thought 'Well, yeah, if she met all the princesses, that might break the Internet.' And that's when I started thinking, if she met all the princesses, I assume the first question would be, 'What kind of princess are you?'"

Although Ribon confessed that she was initially worried that the scene wouldn't be accepted by the producers, it ended up being a major part of the sequel. Luckily for the rest of us, we'll get to see the awesome sequence later this year.

Ribon also provides the voice of Snow White in Wreck-It-Ralph 2. The writer had to take over since the character's original voice actor Adriana Caselotti passed away in 1997.

Ralph Breaks The Internet hits theaters on November 21.
