Wonder Woman 1984 Trailer Pits Diana Against Kristen Wiig's Cheetah in Final Form

It's finally here! The new trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 has just been dropped at the film's DC FanDome panel and it reveals Kristen Wiig's Cheetah in her full form taking on Diana Prince.

The trailer opens with a brief flashback sequence of Diana as a child being told that the world is not yet ready for all that she can do. However, it quickly changes as we see the adult Diana in action. "Your time will come, Diana," Hippolyta tells her. "And everything will be different."

Things are definitely different now that Diana is in the 1980s and Maxwell Lord is telling people they can be whatever they want. Interestingly, Barbara Minerva has a strange plan. "I want to be an apex predator," she announces. And that's exactly what she becomes.

There is an awesome scene that pits Diana against Barbara, who isn't quite in her final form yet. However, the later action sequence is even better as Cheetah has now achieved her final form, making Diana ask, "Barbara, what did you do?"

The synopsis for Wonder Woman 1984 reads as follows:

"Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman's next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.

"With director Patty Jenkins back at the helm and Gal Gadot returning in the title role, Wonder Woman 1984 is Warner Bros. Pictures' follow up to the DC Super Hero's first outing, 2017's record-breaking "Wonder Woman," which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta."

Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters on October 2.
