Will Ultron Be in WandaVision or Return to the MCU?


Avengers: Age of Ultron might be over but it looks like the A.I. still left a lasting mark on everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The latest episode ofWandaVision has just teased on Ultron returning to the MCU.

What Happened in WandaVision Episode 3?

In Now In Color, Wanda Maximoff finally gave birth to twins who were named Billy and Tommy. After the delivery, Wanda bonded with Geraldine and admitted that she once had a twin brother named Pietro Maximoff.

The exchange was emotional as Wanda began singing a Sokovian lullaby to her babies. However, things turned dark when Geraldine mentions that Pietro was killed by Ultron during the Battle of Sokovia.

The Ultron Reference Was Not Random

It may have been an easy way to change the mood but WandaVision fans believe that Ultron being mentioned was more than just an Easter Egg.

There are speculations that the AI will return to the MCU and could haunt Wanda all over again.

Will Ultron Return to the MCU in WandaVision?

Wanda has been able to make things happen through her powers and fans believe that she will try to bring Pietro back in WandaVision Episode 4. Unfortunately, her efforts could also mean that another character from her past will be resurrected as well.

The process of bringing back Pietro could be risky and it might even result in resurrecting a completely different Quicksilver. In addition to that, Wanda could accidentally resurrect Ultron due to her past trauma and connection to the villain.

How are Wanda and Ultron Connected?

Wanda got her powers from the Mind Stone embedded in Loki's scepter while Ultron was originally the AI found in the same Infinity Stone. The two, along with Quicksilver, worked together in Age of Ultron to fight the Avengers before Wanda and Pietro eventually switched sides.

It's also important to note that Vision's vibranium body was initially created by Helen Cho when she was under Ultron's influence. Needless to say, Wanda and Vision wouldn't even find each other without the villain.

So could we see the return of Ultron in WandaVision? Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed whether James Spader will reprise his role. On the other hand, fans are hoping that the Blacklist actor is the secret star who will appear in the series.

The fourth episode ofWandaVision will air on Disney+ on January 29.
