We already know that Monica Rambeau is now one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to what happened in WandaVision. Not surprisingly, Teyonah Parris is also excited about seeing her character's return in the second Captain Marvel film The Marvels.
When we first met Monica, she was Maria Rambeau's hopeful little girl in the first Captain Marvel flick. Interestingly, she reappears in WandaVision where she is now a S.W.O.R.D agent who shares her mother's desire to help people. After the events in the series, Monica now has powers that could rival even Carol Danvers' and Parris says fans will learn about her character's relationship with Captain Marvel.
Parris spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where she teased that Carol was in Monica's life between the events in Captain Marvel and WandaVision.
"Carol Danvers was a part of her life when we last saw her, and seeing that there is still, there is something there, I think is very exciting," Parris said.
"Because as we know, or maybe not, but I'll tell you, that Monica will be in Captain Marvel 2 with Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel. So that gives us space to further explore what might be happening there, so I don't want to ruin anything for you," she concluded.
It would be interesting to see the truth about Monica and Carol's relationship. Needless to say, we can't wait to find out how the two will work with Kamala in Captain Marvel 2.
The Marvels is expected to begin production soon. The sequel is scheduled for release on November 11, 2022.
