There is little doubt that Thor: Love and Thunder is already one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks that will begin production soon. However, it looks like the cast and crew will need to make major changes if they are going to start shooting in Australia soon. A new report reveals that the fourth Thor film will need to shoot in a new location to avoid COVID-19.
Thor: Love and Thunder is already expected to start filming early next year at Sydney's Fox Studios. This is the same location where Thor: Ragnarok was shot so it would be an ideal place to work on the sequel. However, The Daily Telegraph revealed that there are plans to find a safer location, and Warner Bros. Studios at Oxenford, north of the Gold Coast, is currently being considered.
It's not exactly a huge surprise that production will be moved for Love and Thunder. After all, safety is still the main priority for all productions due to COVID-19. With that in mind, this is the best option for the cast and crew right now so we're hoping that it works out well for them.
Love and Thunder isn't the only Marvel film that's supposed to be filmed near Sydney. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was expected to film in New South Wales earlier this year but had to be put on hold due to COVID-19.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Taika Waititi and will also bring back Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson. Christian Bale has reportedly been cast in the film and is expected to play the main villain. The movie is scheduled for release on February 11, 2022.
