Fans will have a hard time recognizing Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder. The Academy Award winner has just been spotted heading for the set of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel and he has a completely new look for his role as Gorr the God Butcher.
People have been hoping for a glimpse at Bale since Thor 4 started production earlier this year. However, it seems like the crew has been hiding the star for some time now. Luckily, fans finally spotted Bale heading for the set and the new photos confirm that he had shaved his head for the role. Check it out here.
Bale's new look shouldn't be a huge surprise for comic book fans. After all, Gorr doesn't have any hair and instead has hornlike protrusions in his head. In addition to that, we know about Bale's dedication to becoming the character he portrays. Needless to say, we can't wait to see him in action in Thor 4.
Bale's casting in Love and Thunder was initially confirmed by co-star Tessa Thompson who revealed that the Oscar winner will be playing the villain in Thor 4. The casting was later officially announced during Disney Investor Day along with the confirmation that Bale has been cast as Gorr. He is the first new cast member of the MCU flick.
Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi and will bring back Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Jaimie Alexander. They will be joined by Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, and more. The film is still in production and is scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.
