The Witcher is Getting Another Anime Spin-off Film

There is no stopping the Witcher Universe. The original live-action series has just been confirmed for Season 3 and we're getting another anime film after the brilliant The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

The update was dropped during The Witcher panel at TUDUM. Although there were no details shared about the new anime project just yet, there are speculations that Studio Mir will once again work on the movie.

But what can we expect in the new Witcher anime film? There are speculations that it would be a sequel to Nightmare of the Wolf and that would mean the return of Theo James' Vesemir. However, some fans also believe that it would focus on the young (and bald) Geralt of Rivia who appeared in the last few minutes of the first Witcher anime movie.

We love both ideas but it is possible that the new Witcher movie will have nothing to do with the witchers we have already met. There is a possibility that the new film will introduce completely new characters with a certain connection to the witchers. In the meantime, we'll have to wait for Netflix to make another official announcement.

In addition to the second anime movie, Netflix also announced that a kid-friendly project is in the works. The new series will be something for Kids and Family so it will probably wind down on the violence that Witcher fans are already used to.

The Witcher Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on December 17, 2021.
