The Witcher Season 2 Reportedly Introduces Young Geralt and Young Vesemir

We already know that The Witcher Season 2 has officially wrapped production but it looks like the highly anticipated return of the series will feature some major surprises. For instance, a new report reveals that the Netflix show will feature a young Geralt of Rivia as well as a young Vesemir.

It's no secret that Henry Cavill will return as the White Wolf while Kim Bodnia will be joining The Witcher Season 2 as Geralt's father figure. However, Redanian Intelligence reports that there will be two other actors playing Geralt and Vesemir in the upcoming season.

According to the report, Alexander Squires and James Baxter have been cast as the younger versions of Geralt and Vesemir in The Witcher Season 2. It's an interesting detail considering that the young Geralt was played by Tristan Ruggeri in the first season. However, the recasting might have something to do with the need for an older actor to take on the role.

Additionally, Baxter had previously been reported to be joining the cast of The Witcher Season 2. However, his role in the series was not revealed. Needless to say, we're looking forward to a flashback scene where young Geralt and Vesemir are starting their training.

The second season of The Witcher will also bring back Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allen as Princess Ciri. For now, the new season has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, it is expected to premiere on Netflix before the end of 2021. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
