The Sandman Series: Neil Gaiman Shares First Look at Netflix Show

It is time to enter The Dreaming. Neil Gaiman and the cast and the crew of The Sandman have just shared our first glimpse at the highly anticipated Netflix series.

The sneak peek offers a behind-the-scenes look at how The Sandman is being made. As Gaiman himself puts it, he is "getting to see what happens when you bring dreams to life."

That's exactly what it is for Tom Sturridge, who has been cast as Morpheus. "I'm someone who is an obsessive Sandman fan," he admits. "It's an awesome responsibility because it's so beloved."

Not surprisingly, Gwendoline Christie agrees with Sturridge (who, by the way, looks PERFECT as Dream). "I read the Sandman graphic novels so I knew that I simply had to be involved in this project because something truly unique was going to happen," the former Game of Thrones star shared.

The enthusiasm of the cast isn't the only thing that's absolutely overwhelming about the brief sneak peek. We get to see the set and how it recreates Morpheus' realm from the graphic novels and it is astounding. We're only seeing how things are being done behind the scenes but there is little doubt that the show will be breathtaking.

The Sandman will also star Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, and Sanjeev Bhaskar. The recent cast additions include Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Donna Preston as Despair, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Joely Richardson as Ethel Cripps, and David Thewlis as John Dee / Doctor Destiny.

The series is still in production and has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
