The Punisher and Jessica Jones can Now Join the MCU

It has been two years since Marvel and Netflix decided to cancel The Punisher and Jessica Jones. That means the rights to the characters have now reverted back to Marvel Studios and they could finally show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But which MCU projects will feature Frank Castle and Jessica Jones?

The Punisher and Jessica Jones were both cancelled on February 18, 2019, just a month after the second season of the Jon Bernthal series aired on Netflix. It was something that fans were already expecting: Marvel had previously cancelled Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil for mere weeks between each other.

Despite the cancellations, fans were hoping that this could mean that the characters were now free to appear in the MCU. However, the legal deal between Netflix and Marvel prevented the use of the characters for two years after the cancellations.

Luckily, we're past that and it's time to wonder which films or shows The Punisher and Jessica Jones could appear in. Fans believe that Frank would make a perfect addition to Moon Knight as a possible mercenary hunting down Marc Spector. In the meantime, Jessica could appear in Hawkeye due to her connection to Kate Bishop.

But will the characters still be played by the same actors? Fans are hoping to see more of Bernthal in action and it's hard to imagine anybody other than Kristen Ritter playing Jessica. If Charlie Cox's rumored casting as Matt Murdock in She-Hulk is true, then it's possible that we'll see the same actors reprising their roles.
