Everything about The Matrix 4 continues to be a huge mystery. Although we know that Neo and Trinity will be back, we still have no idea who will be the new characters joining them in the sequel. Luckily, Jessica Henwick has just shared some interesting new details about her mysterious role.
We already know that Henwick is one of the new cast members confirmed for The Matrix 4. Unfortunately, the former Game of Thrones star can't reveal the identity of her character. Nevertheless, Henwick somehow told Empire Online that she will be taking on some major action sequences.
"There are a couple of cast members who didn't have any physical stuff, and they were so sad. How can you be in The Matrix and not get to do any of the good stuff?" Henwick said.
This is already interesting on its own but Henwick further shared some details about her character.
"I grew up thinking The Matrix was the coolest thing ever!" she said. "Bullet-time, the multiple agents, the pills, and the rabbit! When I signed on, I said the three things I want are a leather jacket, sunglasses, and some wirework. I got two out of the three – I'll leave you to guess which ones."
Now, this is an interesting tease. We're expecting Henwick to be one of the people who gets to join the fight but which of these options did she miss out on? Either way, we're looking forward to seeing her in action soon.
Henwick has already proven that she can take on any action role. She played the Sand Snake Nym in Game of Thrones before landing the role of Colleen Wing in Iron Fist and The Defenders. Needless to say, we're expecting her to be in the middle of a major action sequence in The Matrix 4.
The Matrix 4 is directed by Lana Wachowski and will bring back Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity, respectively. The film is scheduled for release on December 22, 2021.
