The Mandalorian Star Shares Surprising Update on Season 3

There is little doubt that everyone is hoping for an update on The Mandalorian Season 3 although the series won't return until next year. Luckily, it looks like Giancarlo Esposito has some news and it could mean we haven't seen the last of Moff Gideon.

Gideon has been the Big Bad in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. However, he was soundly defeated by Mando in the season finale where he was captured and sent away.

Although it sounds like Gideon won't be going after Baby Yoda anymore, Esposito may have revealed he still knows what will be happening in The Mandalorian Season 3. The former Breaking Bad star recently made an appearance at GalaxyCon where he confirmed that production has not yet begun.

"They just finished shooting [The Book of] Boba Fett and soon they will start on Season 3," Esposito said.

Although it is curious that he said "they" instead of "we," Esposito went on to confirm that Gideon could still play a large role in the third season.

"Yes, you're gonna see me kill this baby," Esposito said. "How about that? It's totally wrong, but you know what, I gotta hold out somewhere that I'm gonna win," he concluded with a laugh.

It's great to see that Esposito has no problem joking around but some believe there is some truth in his jokes. After all, Gideon has made it clear that he has no intention of giving up on Grogu. For now, we'll have to wait for more updates on The Mandalorian Season 3 to find out for sure.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ in late 2022.
