Gina Carano may not have been the most beloved Star Wars actor but the character she plays in The Mandalorian has had a positive effect on fans. So what will happen to Cara Dune now that Carano has been fired by Lucasfilm? A new update may have revealed Cara's fate in Season 3.

When people started begging Disney and Lucasfilm to fire Carano last year, they also pointed out that Cara should be recast in The Mandalorian Season 2. However, this didn't happen considering that the episodes had already been completed.

With Carano now out of the way, the series now has the option to hire a new actor to take on the role or simply kill Cara off in The Mandalorian Season 3. Interestingly, a new leak may have confirmed that Disney and Lucasfilm have gone with the second option.

It was previously reported that Hasbro has cancelled production of the Star Wars: The Black Series figure of Cara Dune. There is also a possibility that Disney has ordered the same thing for other merchandise that feature Cara's likeness in an effort to distance themselves from Carano.

So what could this mean for Cara? Some fans believe this confirms that the character will be written out of The Mandalorian Season 3 for good. This way, the series can simply introduce another strong female character who could work with Mando in the upcoming season.

Although it seems like Cara's fate is sealed, there are also speculations that production on the Cara Dune Black Series figure was cancelled temporarily as Lucasfilm races to find a new actor to play the character. Once the new actress is chosen, Hasbro could then use her likeness instead for the figure.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin production in April and is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
