The Mandalorian: Bib Fortuna Actor Breaks Silence After Star Wars Character's Unexpected Season 2 Return

The best thing about The Mandalorian Season 2 has been the appearances of characters from the Star Wars original trilogy films. In addition to confirming that Boba Fett made it out of the Sarlacc Pit, the Disney+ series also brought back Luke Skywalker in the season finale. But let's not forget about Bib Fortuna, who had an unexpected cameo in Chapter 16: The Rescue and actor Matthew Wood has finally spoken up about his character's return.

Wood, who played Bib in Return of the Jedi, posted a photo of his character on his official Twitter account along with a hilarious caption. Check it out below.

"It has been a literal BLAST to don the lekku again as Bib Fortuna for #TheMandalorian. As Boba made his way toward me, I'd hoped that all the Kenner proof of purchases I sent in for him in 1979 would have come in handy...." Wood wrote.

Not surprisingly, fans were delighted with Wood's tweet but some were also surprised that he actually played the older (and heftier) Bib. Others also commented that they didn't know he portrayed the original Bib in Return of the Jedi.

Bib Fortuna served as Jabba the Hutt's majordomo in the crime lord's palace in Tatooine and was actually on board Jabba's sail barge when it exploded over the Pit of Carkoon. However, The Mandalorian Season 2 confirmed that Bib survived the explosion and even went as far to take control of the palace after Jabba's death. Well, at least until Boba Fett showed up.

All episodes of The Mandalorian Season 2 are now streaming on Disney+.
