It looks like another DC property is having trouble with COVID-19. Production on The Flash Season 7 has been put on hold after a team member working on the CW series tested positive for the virus.
According to Deadline, production on The Flash in Vancouver has been temporarily suspended after the team member's positive test that was confirmed through the rigorous testing protocols implemented by the studio. The team member was reportedly asymptomatic and contact tracing has not been initiated by Warner Bros. TV.
For now, sources confirm that the studio is evaluating adjustments to the production schedule so they could resume filming without the affected employee and their possible close contacts, who are also self-isolating. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
The Flash isn't the first DC project that had to be put on hold due to a positive COVID-19 test. It was previously reported that filming for The Batman was halted when lead star Robert Pattinson tested positive for the virus. Although Pattinson was cleared to continue working, other crew members would test positive for COVID-19 just a few weeks later.
The Flash Season 7 was ordered back in January and will star Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Nicolet, Efrat Dor, Tom Cavanagh, and Jesse L. Martin. They will be joined by Brandon McKnight and Kayla Compton who have both been promoted to series regulars. The new season is scheduled to premiere on The CW on February 23, 2021.
