The Flash: Michael Keaton Confirmed to Return as Batman in DCEU Film

We've already known about this for a while but now it's official. Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Batman, or maybe just Bruce Wayne, in the upcoming DC Extended Universe flick The Flash.

The Wrap reports that Keaton's involvement in the DCEU movie was confirmed by his talent agency ICM Partners. The confirmation comes only a few weeks after the Beetlejuice actor hinted at not taking part in The Flash due to concerns over COVID-19.

"To be honest with you, you know what worries me more than anything about all this stuff? It's COVID," Keaton previously told Deadline. "I'm more concerned. I keep my eye more on the COVID situation in the UK than anything."

It certainly looks like Keaton has changed his mind since then. Director Andy Muschietti has already confirmed that The Flash has finally started production on Monday. The filmmaker made it official with an awesome Instagram post.

Keaton's involvement in The Flash is certainly an exciting thing to look forward to in the film. However, he isn't the only Batman who will show up in the movie. It was also confirmed that Ben Affleck will return as the current DCEU's Bruce Wayne in the film.

We're definitely thrilled to know that The Flash is finally in production and it's actually sort of a relief. After all, the project has been pushed back repeatedly as it lost several different directors. Luckily, the film as well as the DCEU is now moving forward.

The Flash is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere on November 4, 2022.
