The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Reveals How Contessa's Role was Kept Secret

There were a lot of things that fans were expecting in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier but nobody saw Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine coming. Quite literally too, because Julia Louis-Dreyfus has revealed how she was secretly brought into the set of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

The Contessa was introduced in the penultimate episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier where she approached John Walker after he was stripped of the Captain America title. Although it is just a brief scene, Louis-Dreyfus revealed in a new video that getting to work was not an easy task.

"They snuck me onto set every day in this stunning hooded cloak. I have worn it every day since. Obviously," she wrote.

Well, that's certainly an interesting way to get to work on a regular basis. Nevertheless, we're glad that Louis-Dreyfus went through all the hiding just to make sure the Contessa's surprise reveal would be kept secret until Episode 5 aired.

The Contessa was initially expected to make an appearance in Black Widow. However, the film has been delayed so the character's debut actually happened in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier instead. Still, there's a possibility that Val will be in the Scarlett Johansson film.

Although the Contessa only appeared in two episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, there is a huge possibility that we haven't seen the last of the character just yet. Fans believe that Val and Walker could show up again in Captain America 4, which is expected to focus on Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 6 is now streaming on Disney+.
