The Batman Will Continue Production Despite Latest UK COVID-19 Lockdown

It looks like there will be no stopping The Batman this year. It has just been confirmed that the highly anticipated DC flick will continue production despite the most recent COVID-19 lockdown in the UK.

According to Comicbook.com, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that the country should be ready by November 5 when restrictions will be placed. However, big-budget projects like film productions will be allowed to continue operation as long as they abide by safety protocols.

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden confirmed the news on his official Twitter account. Take a look at his tweet below.

"As the Prime Minister has just confirmed we will be taking additional restrictions from Thursday. We understand the anxiety & impact these will have, and will ensure they last not a day longer than necessary," Dowden wrote.

"The changes mean people should WFH [work from home] where possible. But where this is not possible, travel to a place of work will be permitted – e.g. this includes (but not exhaustive) elite sport played behind closed doors, film & tv production, telecoms workers," Dowden added.

There is little doubt that The Batman is eager to continue production considering that the film has already been delayed repeatedly throughout the year. Filming was put on hold earlier this year and then again in September when Robert Pattinson tested positive for COVID-19.

The Batman is scheduled for release on March 4, 2022.
