The Batman Star John Turturro Shares New Details About Carmine Falcone

Production on The Batman might be on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak but we're getting new details about the film from John Turturro. The Big Lebowski star has just confirmed that his character Carmine Falcone will be the Big Bad in the upcoming Robert Pattinson movie.

Turturro recently spoke to The Inquirer about his latest project and he pretty much stated that although there are other DC villains in the film, he's playing the real deal.

"I'm playing the bad guy," Turturro stated. He then admitted that Batman was not the first real hero he had as a child.

"I loved Batman growing up, but I'm really a Zorro fan," Turturro said with a laugh. However, he did confess he eventually began to like the Caped Crusader.

"There's no Batman without Zorro. When I was 5 years old, I thought I was Zorro with a sword. I had a stick that I hit my father with all the time. Then, when Batman came on TV, it was a big thrill. I read some of the comics. My sons always read DC comics. So I played with those for years," Turturro confessed.

The Barton Fink actor also had nothing but praise for the filmmaker behind The Batman as well as his co-stars. "I like Matt Reeves, the director. It's an interesting cast," he said.

Although we're already excited to see what Turturro's version of the mob boss will be like, we'll have to wait a little longer for that update. It is still unclear when The Batman will resume production.

The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
