The Bad Batch Actor Auditioned for a Different Star Wars Role

There is little doubt that fans have fallen in love with Omega in Star Wars: The Bad Batch. However, it looks like we almost met Michelle Ang a lot sooner. The actress who provides the young clone's voice has just revealed that she auditioned for a role in the Star Wars sequel trilogy movies.

Ang recently spoke to StarWars.com where she discussed working on the animated series. "This is really moving for me to be part of Star Wars," she said before revealing that she tried out for a part in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

"The feeling of losing out to that was really huge and quite heartbreaking. So it's quite nice to have it come full circle and still get to play with all of you," Ang said.

Interestingly, Ang didn't reveal which role it was that she tried out for in The Last Jedi. However, there is a possibility that she auditioned for either Rose Tico or her sister Paige Tico. These parts would eventually go to Kelly Marie Tran and Veronica Ngo, respectively.

Although she didn't land a star-making role in The Last Jedi, we're glad that Ang never gave up and found an awesome character in the Star Wars Universe. Needless to say, we can't wait to learn more about her adorable Omega in the upcoming episodes of The Bad Batch and maybe in more Star Wars shows in the future.

The latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is titled Battle Scars. Episode 7 is now streaming on Disney+.
