Taika Waititi Celebrated Jojo Rabbit Oscar Win by Watching Harry Potter

How would you celebrate if you won an Oscar? Taika Waititi had a truly unique idea after taking home the Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the 92nd Academy Awards. The Jojo Rabbit director decided to snuggle with the statuette as he enjoyed an entire evening watching a Harry Potter film.

Waititi recently posted a series of photos on his official Instagram account recounting how he spent the day after his Oscar win. Check it out below.

"Thanks @variety for the Next Morning cover! Scroll right to see the 'afternoon after', watching Prisoner of Azkaban post my appearance on @theellenshow. Thank you to everyone for the congratulatory messages. It's been a surreal few days and I'm still celebrating. Mauri Ora!" Waititi wrote before adding the hashtags #oscars, #variety, and #JojoRabbit.

It looks like Waititi was interviewed by Variety right after Jojo Rabbit was honored at the Oscars and he immediately visited Ellen Degeneres. Needless to say, capping off an awesome day with a Harry Potter film is a great way to celebrate.

Waititi might be enjoying his win right now but he's already trying to figure out how to proceed with his next project. It was previously reported that he is already considering what will happen in Thor: Love and Thunder especially when it comes to Jane Foster's storyline.

In addition to Thor: Love and Thunder, Waititi is also developing a live-action remake of the cyberpunk animated classic Akira. Although Akira has been pushed back, Thor 4 is already scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
