Stranger Things Season 4 Adds Freddy Krueger Actor Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower and More

It looks like the ongoing Stranger Things tradition of introducing an 80s star as a new character continues with Season 4. The Netflix series has just confirmed that Nightmare on Elm Street actor Robert Englund will be joining the cast as a mysterious new character. In addition to that, the show revealed the identity of the character that will be played by former Game of Thrones star Tom Wlaschiha.

The announcement was made on the official Stranger Things Twitter account through a "roll call" asking for a "big Hawkins welcome" for the new cast member. Check it out below.

According to the tweet, Englund will portray Victor Creel, "a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s." Well, that sounds a lot like Freddy Krueger except the 80s horror icon was torched by his own neighbors.

The thread also confirms that Wlaschiha will play Dmitri, "a smart and charming Russian prison guard." We've already seen the character in the first teaser for Season 4 and it looks like the tweet suggests that he might not be someone that Hopper could trust.

The other big-name additions to the cast include Fantastic Beasts star Jamie Campbell Bower who will portray Peter Ballard, "a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital" who gets "tired of the brutality he witnesses day after day." Eduardo Franco has been cast as Argyle who will be Jonathan's new BFF while Sherman Augustus will play Lt. Colonel Sullivan, "an intelligent, no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins once and for all." Take a look at the rest of the cast below.

Stranger Things Season 4 is still in production but is already expected to premiere on Netflix late next year.
