Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Confirms Leia Finishing Rey's Jedi Training

It looks like General Leia Organa will be finishing what Luke Skywalker started. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has just confirmed that Leia will be training the young girl to be a Jedi.

The awesome (and long-rumored) confirmation comes from a description of Leia's The Rise of Skywalker costume that was featured during the film's press junket (via Twitter). Check it out below.

"General Leia Organa continues to lead the heroic Resistance, building back a fighting force after having suffered costly setbacks. Leia is also training Rey in the ways of the Force, for the galaxy still has need of a Jedi," the card says.

This is an amazing revelation considering that it confirms Leia underwent Jedi training (how can you train someone to be a Jedi if you aren't one in the first place?). This could mean that Luke actually taught his sister the ways of the Jedi before she decided to lead the Resistance. Hopefully, we'll get a glimpse at how this happened in The Rise of Skywalker.

We're loving the idea that Leia truly is a Jedi since it meant she knows how to use the Force but still chose a different way to fight for the galaxy. It's also saddening to know that it may have been possible to see Leia in action if not for the unfortunate passing of the late Carrie Fisher. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to seeing Leia one more time later this December.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
