Star Wars: The High Republic Launch Trailer Teases What the Jedi Fear

The highly anticipated Star Wars: The High Republic was finally launched today kicking things off with a live stream featuring the creative minds behind the books and comics. In addition to that, the official launch trailer was dropped and it offers a brief glimpse at what the Jedi fear during their golden era.

The trailer opens with the Jedi introducing themselves as "the guardians of peace and justice." They also reveal their mission.

"Our order was meant to shine its light in even the darkest corners of the galaxy," they proclaim. However, it's not as easy as it seems as they discover "an evil that none of us had trained for."

The High Republic will usher in new heroes and villains in a time when the Jedi were at their strongest 200 years before the events in the Skywalker Saga. During the livestream panel hosted by Kristin Baver, it was revealed that there would be three phases in the multi-year project rollout.

Phase I: Light of the Jedi
Phase II: Quest of the Jedi
Phase III: Trials of the Jedi

The project will conclude with the Disney+ series Acolyte, which takes place at the end of the age of the High Republic.

The current line-up of the collection includes Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule, A Test of Courage by Justina Ireland, The Great Jedi Rescue by Cavan Scott, and Into The Dark by Claudia Gray. In addition to that, the comic books Star Wars: The High Republic #1 by Cavan Scott and Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #1 by Daniel José Older were also launched.

The books and comics from Star Wars: The High Republic are now available for pre-order here.
