Star Wars: Mark Hamill Posts Heartwarming Luke Skywalker Tribute Ahead of The Rise of Skywalker Premiere

There is little doubt that Luke Skywalker is one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars Universe. Not surprisingly, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's Mark Hamill has decided to pay tribute to the Jedi that he has brought to life decades ago with a heartwarming post.

Hamill shared several images of Luke along with a lengthy message highlighting the best thing about playing the character. Check it out below.

"As the end draws near-I can't tell you how much 1 single role has meant to me over the years. Because of him, people feel they know me-Because of him everyone is my friend-Because of him it seems like the whole world is my family. I will be grateful for that...Forever," Hamill wrote. He then added the hashtag #BeingLuke.

It's a touching tribute considering that The Rise of Skywalker might be the last time we'll ever get to see Hamill play Luke on the big screen. After all, Episode IX will be the final film in the Skywalker Saga and the franchise is now set to focus on new characters. Needless to say, watching the movie next week will be a truly emotional experience for fans who have followed Star Wars from the start.

Luke's return in The Rise of Skywalker is still a mystery since he was killed off in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Nevertheless, we're hoping that it will be a return worthy of the character.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
