We've all been wondering how Ahsoka Tano managed to survive Order 66 although just about every Jedi was promptly executed by the Clone Troopers. Luckily, we know now what happened to the former padawan, thanks to the latest episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7.
In Shattered, Ahsoka had finally fulfilled her mission: with the help of the Clone Troopers and Bo-Katan Kryze's forces, Maul has been captured and was going to be taken to the Jedi Council. Unfortunately, things didn't work out as expected. As they were on their way to Coruscant, Darth Sidious finally dropped in to execute Order 66.
Although she was a former Jedi, Ahsoka still turned out to be a target for the Clone Troopers. However, she had one thing going for her: Captain Rex managed to override his programming long enough to warn Ahsoka and tell her to "find Fives." This allowed her to fight back and escape, eventually using Maul as a distraction so she could find out why the Clone Troopers have turned against her.
In the end, Ahsoka manages to take Rex and remove his inhibitor chip. However, they still have a huge problem: The other Clone Troopers still have their chips and will stop at nothing to kill Ahsoka.
The final episode of the animated series could ultimately reveal how Ahsoka and Rex (and Maul) managed to escape certain death. For now, fans can rest assured that it might be a difficult task but these characters will survive in the end.
The series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 will air on Disney+ on Tuesday, May 4.
