Star Wars: Here's What Finn Wanted to Say to Rey in The Rise of Skywalker

If you watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker this weekend, there's a good chance that you still have unanswered questions. For instance, what was Finn trying to tell Rey early on in the film? Luckily, we have the answer and it's probably not what you were expecting.

One of the running gags in The Rise of Skywalker was Finn telling Rey he had something important to tell her but never gets to blurt it out. At one point when they are about to be killed by the First Order, Poe Dameron even tries to ask Finn what he had wanted to say. Unfortunately, they were once again interrupted and the secret is never really revealed.

Director J.J. Abrams was recently in attendance during a special Academy screening of The Rise of Skywalker where he answered several questions (via Twitter). When someone asked what Finn wanted to tell Rey, Abrams revealed that it was something people had somehow suspected from the start.

That's right, Abrams confirmed that Finn was trying to tell his friend that he is also Force-sensitive. It's something that was somehow teased throughout the sequel trilogy but was shown in The Rise of Skywalker.

In Episode IX, Finn kept making decisions based on what should be instinct but is somehow revealed to be the Force. It's an awesome idea that could be explored in future Star Wars films if they will include Finn.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
