Star Wars: Hayden Christensen And Ian McDiarmid Reunite For Surprisingly Awesome Cause

It's usually not a good idea to leave Darth Vader AND Emperor Palpatine in the same room as a group of children. However, Star Wars fans were in for a pleasant surprise when Hayden Christensen and Ian McDiarmid reunited for an awesome cause this week.

Christensen and McDiarmid recently visited Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah to check on the patients. The video shared by KUTV News shows the Star Wars actors happily chatting with the patients and their parents, answering questions about the film, and generally just enjoying their time with the kids in the Ronald McDonald Room.

We're happy to report that no younglings were harmed during Christensen and McDiarmid's visit to the hospital. Both actors happened to be in Utah to attend FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention and were happy to drop by the hospital.

The Sith Lords were not the only ones who brought smiles to the patient's faces this week. John Rhys-Davies of Lord of the Rings also dropped by after Christensen and McDiarmid had left. It's probably for the best because you don't really want to know what happens when two Force users meet up with a dwarf.

We already know that McDiarmid will reprise his role as the Emperor in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker but it is still unclear if Christensen will play a role in the upcoming film. Although there have been speculations that Vader will show up in a surprise cameo in Episode IX, it's still highly unlikely that the former Anakin Skywalker will play a role in the movie.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
