There is little doubt that Lando Calrissian's return is one of the most anticipated things about Star Wars: Episode IX. But how exactly will Billy Dee Williams' character be brought back into the story? A new leak suggests that it has a lot to do with the Millennium Falcon.
The leak was posted on Reddit where the user shared details from an unnamed source. The post confirms that the Falcon will still be used by the Resistance, specifically Rey and Chewbacca early in the film. However, things will change once the plot gets split into two.
"Rey and Rose go together in a new ship to deal with Objective A, while Chewie, Poe, and Finn take the Millennium Falcon to another planet to solve Objective B, which seems to be some kind of Resistance meeting/debriefing," the post reads.
According to the source, the meeting will be where Lando will be re-introduced. "Initially Lando won't join the resistance, until Chewie convinces him, by offering the Falcon as payment for the help," the post reads.
This certainly makes sense considering that the Falcon originally belonged to Lando. Is it finally time for the iconic ship to return to its owner in Episode IX? We'd be interested to see this. However, this is still based on rumors so it's best to take the information with a grain of salt.
Williams is certainly embracing his role as Lando once again. The Return of the Jedi star recently tweeted interesting advice for people dealing with the polar vortex by telling them to wear their capes.
Star Wars: Episode IX will premiere on December 20.
