Star Trek: The Next Generation Actors Celebrate Patrick Stewart's Birthday in 'COVID Compliant' Reunion

In case you missed it, Patrick Stewart turned 80 on July 13. Needless to say, it's an awesome milestone for the Star Trek: Picard actor and luckily, he didn't have to celebrate alone despite the coronavirus outbreak. Stewart actually reunited with his Star Trek: The Next Generation castmates in what they described as a "COVID compliant" celebration.

LeVar Burton shared a photo on Twitter confirming the reunion of the actors that took place by the poolside of Marina Sirtis' home. The star of The Next Generation even assured Trekkies that they were being careful since they were clearly wearing masks and were standing far apart from each other. Take a look at the tweet below.

"A Covid compliant, socially distanced and masked observation of the 80th Birthday of a legend and a friend," Burton wrote before adding the hashtag #bydhttmwfi.

The image shows Stewart, Burton, Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, and Gates McFadden. It's an awesome reunion but fans also noticed that there was one cast member who was not in attendance.

Interestingly, Jonathan Frakes was unable to join the celebration. However, he was quick to greet his Picard co-star on Twitter. Check out his tweet below.

"Happy Birthday @sirpatstew 80 great years," Frakes wrote. He also shared a sweet photo of himself and Stewart taking some time off behind the scenes of Picard.

We're loving the idea that the cast of TNG is still close friends who manage to observe social distancing in times like these. Hopefully, we'll get to see them reunited on screen in Picard Season 2.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
