Star Trek: First Contact Director Debunks Data and Borg Queen Sex Scene Debate

There's a lot of things that we are still hoping to learn about the Star Trek Universe. For instance, did Data and the Borg Queen actually have sex in Star Trek: First Contact? Amazingly, we finally have the answer to this particular conundrum. Jonathan Frakes has debunked that steamy scene from the film.

In First Contact, Data (Brent Spiner) was captured by the Borg and the Borg Queen (Alice Krige) found a strange way to seduce/torture him. After the tense exchange, the Borg Queen kisses Data and the scene cuts away but fans are still convinced that the two did the deed.

So did it happen? Frakes, who directed First Contact, was asked by IGN if it was safe to assume that Data totally boned the Borg Queen. "I would," the Star Trek: Picard actor teased. However, with further pressing, Frakes ultimately confirmed that "Yes," the two actually had sex.

That's not the only cool thing that Frakes confirmed in the interview. It was previously reported that he also admitted to wanting to direct Star Trek: Nemesis. Unfortunately, he was never asked to helm the film although his character Will Riker did show up in the movie.

Frakes is expected to continue working on Star Trek: Picard Season 2. However, it has not yet been revealed when production on the second season will resume due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
