Star Trek: Discovery Showrunner Shares Terrifying Details about Season 4 Villain

We have a lot of questions about Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 but here's one that is important in every season: Who will be the new villain in the series? Alex Kurtzman has shared some creepy details about the dangerous baddie who will terrorize the Discovery crew next year.

Kurtzman recently joined Sonequa Martin-Green and fellow Discovery showrunner Michelle Paradise in an online panel with Deadline (via Trek Movie). During the discussion, Kurtzman teased on what Trekkies can expect in Season 4.

"We're actually exploring – we're diving deep into science – in the fourth season, in a kind of new and interesting way," he said. He continued by dropping a creepy clue about the show's next Big Bad.

"There have been many kinds of villains over the course of Star Trek. What happens when the villain is not actually any kind of living, breathing entity, but something else? How do you solve that problem?" Kurtzman asked.

This is a terrifying thing to think about although some fans were quick to consider the idea of the villain being an AI. On the other hand, this isn't something new since the Big Bad in Season 2 was actually an AI.

So does this mean Discovery will be finding something similar to zombies in space? We're hoping this isn't the case since that's not something we're ready for. Nevertheless, we're intrigued by Kurtzman's hints and we're already looking forward to whatever the villain will be in Star Trek: Discovery Season 4.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 is currently in production and is expected to wrap up by June. Although the upcoming season has not yet been given an official release date, the series is expected to return on CBS All Acess by next year.
