Trekkies who have been hoping to learn more about Spock are in for some great news. Star Trek has just confirmed that The Autobiography of Spock will be released in September.
The upcoming book, which was "edited" by Una McCormack, will follow everything from Spock's unique childhood as a half-Vulcan, half-human boy all the way to his adventures on Starfleet. These stories will be told from Spock's point of view which is an interesting concept since we never really know what goes on in his mind.
The synopsis for The Autobiography of Spock reads as follows:
"Fictional autobiography of the iconic Star Trek character, told in his own words and telling the story of his life, including his difficult childhood, his adventures on the Enterprise, and his death and resurrection on the Genesis Planet."
Spock is undoubtedly one of the most enigmatic characters in Star Trek. The Vulcan, who was originally played by the late Leonard Nimoy, was first introduced in Star Trek: The Original Series as the science officer and first officer. He would later become the commanding officer of two iterations of the Enterprise.
Although Nimoy originated the role, Spock has also been portrayed by two more actors. Zachary Quinto played the character in the J.J. Abrams reboot of TOS. Ethan Peck then took over the role in Star Trek: Discovery and will return as the young Spock in the upcoming spin-off series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
