Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Director Teases Live-Action Spideys Joining Animated Sequel

There is little doubt that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse already featured a lot of Spider-People. So does this mean there will be even more super-powered spiders individuals in the upcoming sequel? Director Peter Ramsey has confirmed that they are actually planning to bring in live-action characters into the second Spider-Verse movie.

Ramsey was recently a guest on Literary Joe's Inner Child podcast where he discussed what it was like working on the animated film (via Comic Book Movie). Interestingly, the director admitted that they had initially planned to introduce live-action Spideys into the first movie.

"Oh, we were playing with that idea for this one. There was definitely a pitch where live-action folks showed up," Ramsey said.

Although that didn't happen, Ramsey has teased on the possibility that this could be something to look forward to in the Into The Spider-Verse sequel.

For now, this isn't confirmed but we're loving the idea that there will be even more Spider-Men and Spider-Women who could potentially show up in the film. We're definitely crossing our fingers on the possibility coming true soon.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has not yet been given an official title. However, the sequel is already scheduled for release on October 7, 2022.
