Solo: A Star Wars Story Spin-Off Show Reportedly Being Planned For Disney+

We're still not sure if Solo: A Star Wars Story will be getting a sequel, but it looks like there's a spin-off series being planned for Disney+.

A new report from Star Wars Unity suggests that a Solo series is currently being discussed for the Disney streaming service, which is already working on the Rogue One spin-off show that will explore Cassian Andor's origins. Interestingly, the report points out that the planned series will not focus on Han Solo or any of the protagonists in the Ron Howard movie. Instead, it could highlight the mysterious Crimson Dawn and the other criminal gangs around the galaxy.

As the report suggests, the series might be an offshoot of the Mos Eisley film that was initially planned at Pinewoods Studio. On the other hand, the idea of a gang war series fits in quite perfectly with Jon Kasdan's previous tease about what should happen in Solo 2.

Back in May, the hashtag #MakeSolo2Happen began trending and Kasdan was quick to pick up on the news. The screenwriter hinted at what could happen in the Solo sequel by sharing the logos of the Hutts, the Pykes, and of course, Crimson Dawn.

So is it possible that Kasdan's idea may have been altered slightly to become a Solo spin-off series? A gang war show would be in line with something like The Mandalorian so it's an exciting possibility. However, this is currently based on rumors so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on November 12.
