Shazam 2 Set Photo Reveals First Look at Helen Mirren as Hespera

Things are getting exciting for Shazam! Fury of the Gods now that the sequel has finally started production. After we've seen the heroes in their costumes, a new set photo has revealed our first look at Helen Mirren's villainous character Hespera.

Zachary Levi had previously shared our first look at the Shazam Family and it was also revealed that one of the characters has been recast. While fans were freaking out about the news, the paparazzi were busy taking photos of the cast on the set of Shazam 2.

Interestingly, Mirren is one of the first actors spotted on the set. In the photos, it is confirmed that she will be filming scenes with Levi. Check it out below.

It's interesting to note that Mirren is wearing a headpiece worthy of the gods. After all, her character is one of the daughters of Atlas and possibly one of the gods whose fury Shazam will have to deal with. We're still not sure what will happen in the movie but we're looking forward to seeing Mirren in action soon.

Shazam 2 is directed by David F. Sandberg and will also star Rachel Zegler and Lucy Liu as the other daughters of Atlas. Grace Fulton, who had played the younger Mary Bromfield in the first movie, will also portray the adult version of her character, replacing Michelle Borth.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods also stars Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, and Jovan Armand. The sequel is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023.
