We finally have some exciting news about Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe sequel will begin production soon, as confirmed by one of the stars from the first film.

Meagan Good played the adult superhero form of Darla Dudley in Shazam! and is set to reprise the role in the second movie. But when exactly will Good start working on Fury of the Gods? The Minority Report star revealed that she is getting ready to begin filming in a few months.

"God willing and by the grace of God, Shazam 2 starts in May," Good said in an interview with The Carlos Watson Show.

This is a positive update considering that fans have been worried that the movie will begin production late since it isn't due until Summer 2023. However, it has been made clear that the cast and crew are eager to start filming as soon as possible.

There's a good reason why Shazam 2 needs to start shooting soon. After all, the young cast members are growing up fast and will need to begin working on the sequel before they appear too grown up for their roles. Needless to say, we're hoping that the movie will start production on schedule.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will still be directed by David F. Sandberg and will bring back Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as the two versions of Billy Batson. Most of the cast of the first film are expected to return as well, including Mark Strong despite Dr. Sivana's incarceration in the 2019 movie.

Shazam 2 is currently scheduled for release on June 2, 2023.
