Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings Finally Reveals the Real Mandarin

If you've seen the first teaser for Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, there's a good chance that you were blown away by the amazing action sequences and that exhilarating nod to Speed. However, the trailer also proved that The Mandarin is real and this time, he's not just a harmless actor.

There is little doubt that the Shang-Chitrailer puts the focus on Simu Liu's titular character who went through rigorous training as a child and just wants to live a normal life. However, the teaser actually features a huge chunk of dialogue from his father Wenwu, who is determined to bring his boy over into the family business.

Now, this shouldn't be a big deal since this happens all the time. However, Shang-Chi's father Wenwu is not a regular dad. He goes by many names, one of which just happens to be The Mandarin. Although the character has already appeared in Iron Man 3, he was later revealed to be a fake.

But now we're meeting the real Mandarin and he's understandably more terrifying than Trevor Slattery. This is a man who forced his own child into brutal training. He's also capable of taking on several enemies at once and controls some of the most dangerous people in the world. On top of all that, Wenwu is played by the talented and formidable Tony Leung.

Sure, The Mandarin is the bad guy in The Legend of the Ten Rings but he's also a father and that's something we see in the Shang-Chi trailer. Needless to say, Wenwu is a villain to watch out for in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings will premiere on September 3, 2021.
