There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. After all, the new Marvel Cinematic Universe flick is already set to begin production right now. Unfortunately, it looks like filming has been delayed due to the Australian bushfires.
The update comes from Charles Murphy of the Murphy's Law podcast who responded to a fan asking for news about Shang-Chi on Twitter. When the fan asked if there are any set photos from the Marvel flick, Murphy simply answered, "Delayed."
Although Murphy didn't have an explanation as to why production on Shang-Chi has been delayed, there is a huge possibility that MCU flick is stepping back due to the bushfires taking all over Australia. Although this doesn't necessarily mean that the film set has been affected, production may be put on hold to avoid putting the cast and crew in danger. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Several parts of Australia has been ravaged by bushfires since the beginning of 2020, resulting in the death of wildlife all over the country. Although the fires are slowly being managed, it may take some time for Australia to recover.
Shang-Chi will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and star Simu Liu as the titular character. Tony Leung has also been confirmed to play the Mandarin while Golden Globe winner Awkwafina has been cast in an undisclosed role.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled for release on February 12, 2021.
