Shang-Chi First Trailer Released as Simu Liu Shares MCU Character's First Poster

Fans have been getting updates on Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings from leaked merchandise for some time now. However, we have yet to get some official promo for the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. Luckily, Marvel has dropped the first trailer and Simu Liu shared his character's first official poster.

The trailer opens with Shang-Chi going into an abandoned temple and finding an old training post that has been worn down over time. He knows this place. It's where he was trained as a child to become a weapon.

Interestingly, Wenwu (Tony Leung) tells Shang-Chi that he gave the boy a full decade to live his life, which we see is spent simply having fun with his friends. "I trained you so the most dangerous people in the world couldn't kill you," Wenwu continues. "Son, it is time for you to take your place by my side."

See, that's not gonna work out too well considering that Wenwu is actually The Mandarin and Shang-Chi must now have to face his own father and any enemy who comes his way.

In addition to the teaser, we also have our first poster for the movie. Liu took to his official Twitter account to share the poster with his followers. It features our first official look at Shang-Chi and his costume. Check it out below.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. It also stars Awkwafina, Fala Chen, Meng'er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh. The film is scheduled for release on September 3, 2021.
