Rick and Morty Movie 'Will Happen' According to Producer

It looks like Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith will be crossing over into the big screen. Producer Scott Marder and voice actor Spencer Grammer have just teased on a possible Rick and Morty movie being released in the future.

It's no secret that fans have been hoping for a Rick and Morty movie for a long time. The need for a full-length film initially came from the extended delay of the animated show's third season. However, it looks like the producers are seriously thinking about pursuing the idea.

Marder and Grammer recently spoke to Metro UK where they addressed the possibility of a Rick and Morty movie. Marder pointed out the project would be "daunting" but very possible.

"I wouldn't be shocked if there was one that comes down the pipe one day," Marder said. "I feel like every episode is a movie. I'd like to see what a movie would be, I feel like we pack so much in. It'd have to be pretty epic."

Grammar, who provides the voice of Summer Smith in the series, agreed about a large-scale Rick and Morty movie.

"It'd have to be something so big – like a 3D interactive movie that also has a theme park. I don't know if you could just do a straight movie," Grammer said before adding that "there are those 4D movie theatres in New York City."

Interestingly, Marder then stated that he is hopeful about the movie pushing through. "I think it will happen," Marder said. "I do think it will happen."

It's an awesome possibility and even Justin Roiland is hopeful about the movie. Interestingly, the co-creator has stated that plans for the film have not yet been set in stone but they are just trying to find the time to actually work on it. Let's hope we'll get some awesome updates about it soon.

Rick and Morty Season 5 will premiere on Adult Swim on June 20, 2021.
