Rian Johnson Shares Rare Carrie Fisher Photo from Star Wars: The Last Jedi

We're only a few days away from what would have been the late Carrie Fisher's 64th birthday but it looks like Rian Johnson has a nice surprise for her fans. The Star Wars: The Last Jedi director has just shared some never-before-seen photos from the set of the film and one just happens to be a gorgeous picture of the screen legend.

Johnson posted the images on his official Instagram account. Although the Knives Out director was actually cleaning out his closet and discovering his notes from the Star Wars flick, he also found the polaroids and decided to share it with his followers. Make sure to swipe through to see all the pictures.

"Closet cleaning, found my Last Jedi writing notebooks. Such a trip flipping through them. Bonus: a few polaroids stuck in the pages," Johnson wrote.

While the first image simply shows a stack of notebooks, the second photo features a polaroid of a smiling Kelly Marie Tran while another one shows a sweet focus on Fisher. Both actresses appear to be out of costume and some believe that the pictures were taken during their free time.

It's great to see a rare image of Fisher ahead of her birthday. However, there is little doubt that fans will be celebrating her 64th birthday next week on October 21.

Fisher passed away on December 27, 2016. She was 60 years old. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 15, 2017 and was dedicated to our beloved Princess Leia.
