Ray Fisher Wants The Mandalorian Director to Helm Cyborg Standalone Film

It's still unclear if the Cyborg standalone movie is happening but it looks like Ray Fisher already has big plans for the project. Zack Snyder's Justice League star says that he wants The Mandalorian director Rick Famuyiwa to work on his film.

Fisher recently spoke to Comicbook Debate where he discussed the Snyder Cut as well as his future in the DC Extended Universe. Interestingly, the Justice League star pointed out that he is still eager to work on the Cyborg movie. In addition to that, he admitted that he wants Famuyiwa to helm the project.

It's no surprise that Fisher has his eye on Famuyiwa. After all, the filmmaker has already proven that he is a force to reckon with through his films Dope and Brown Sugar. In addition to that, Famuyiwa directed three episodes in The Mandalorian, the most recent one being the Season 2 penultimate episode Chapter 15: The Believer.

Famuyiwa also happens to be an interesting choice for Fisher since the filmmaker had previously been attached to work on a different standalone movie. He was actually the second director who was brought in to helm The Flash after Seth Grahame-Smith left the project. On the other hand, Famuyiwa seems like a better fit for the Cyborg film.

For now, there is no word from Warner Bros. on whether the Cyborg movie is still in the plans. Nevertheless, Fisher remains hopeful and we're also hoping that the studio will make an announcement about it soon.
