Peacemaker: James Gunn Drops Awesome Set Photos from John Cena Series

It looks like the cast of Peacemaker is having a blast working on the upcoming John Cena series. James Gunn has just shared some awesome photos taken from the set of the highly anticipated spin-off of The Suicide Squad.

Gunn posted the new images on his official Twitter account along with a tease on what to expect in Peacemaker. Check it out below.

"Are you ready for what the #Peacemaker crew is cooking up? @DCPeacemaker @hbomax #teampeacemaker," Gunn wrote. He also tagged Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Chris Conrad in his post.

Interestingly, Gunn confirmed in a second post that Robert Patrick was not on the set at the time. Nevertheless, he admitted that they were missing the Terminator 2: Judgement Day star and teased a glimpse at what was being shot that day.

It's great to see that the cast is getting along well and filming is moving smoothly for the HBO Max series. Hopefully, this means we could get the first teaser for Peacemaker in the next few months.

The new series will explore the origins of Peacemaker, who will be introduced in The Suicide Squad. In addition to Cena, Agee and Holland will reprise their roles from the DC Extended Universe flick.

It has been confirmed that Gunn will direct the pilot as well as several other episodes in the series. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 director also wrote all of the eight episodes of the DCEU show.

The Suicide Squad will premiere in limited theaters and on HBO Max on August 16. Peacemaker has not yet been given an official release date but is set to air on the streaming service by January 2022.
