Original Hulk Lou Ferrigno Disses Mark Ruffalo's Performance As Bruce Banner

There have been several actors who have played Bruce Banner throughout history. However, Lou Ferrigno, who portrayed the Green Guy in The Incredible Hulk TV series, doesn't seem very impressed with Mark Ruffalo's take on the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ferrigno recently made an appearance at the Montreal Comiccon where he spoke about the different actors who took on the role (via Comicbook.com). The I Love You, Man star confessed that Ruffalo is the only actor he couldn't take seriously as the Hulk.

"Mark is a wonderful actor. But we've had three different actors — we've had Eric Bana, Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo. I like Bill Bixby the best, I like Edward Norton. But Ruffalo — I think he's a wonderful actor, he blends in with the Marvel aspect of the Avengers — but I can't take him seriously enough," Ferrigno said.

Interestingly, Ferrigno compared Ruffalo to Bixby, who played Bruce Banner in the 1978 TV series. According to the Trauma Center star, it isn't completely Ruffalo's fault since the studios may have changed the way Banner is portrayed.

"Bill has that intensity, and you knew that when he was in danger, you could feel that intensity. But because of Marvel and Disney, they've taken a different direction. You can't take it as seriously as the original series," Ferrigno added.

It's certainly interesting that Ferrigno would say that considering that he still voices The Hulk in the MCU. His work goes mostly uncredited and he may not have provided any voicework on Avengers: Endgame where Banner and Hulk have become one entity.
