The premiere of the Shadow and Bone live-action series is less than a month away and Netflix has just dropped a new trailer. This time, we finally get a glimpse at the Sun Summoner and Alina Starkov's training to control her powers.
The Shadow and Bonetrailer open with the attack in the Fold where Malyen "Mal" Oretsev being attacked along with other soldiers. The helpless Alina looks on in terror and screams for her friend. But is she truly helpless? When one soldier is asked what happened, he says it was a Sun Summoner who saved them.
It doesn't take long before everyone is looking for Alina as a huge prize is put on her head. However, they will have trouble reaching her as she is taken by General Kirigan and subject to training to harness her powers. Here, Alina learns that she is more than just a young girl and that she could be the only one who can save their world.
It's going to be a long journey for Alina but she has her friends to help her along the way. But does she have what it takes to be an important member of the Grisha? Can she control herself around General Kirigan and do whatever it takes to save everyone?
Shadow and Bone are based on the novels by Leigh Bardugo. The series stars Jessie Mei Li, Ben Barnes, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, and Kit Young. It is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on April 23, 2021.
