Netflix's The Old Guard New Trailer Reveals the Painful Side of Immortality

There is little doubt that people would want to live forever. However, the new trailer for The Old Guard reveals that it's not that fun especially when you make a living as a mercenary.

The trailer opens with Charlize Theron's Andy driving across a desert when the soldier in the trunk of her car manages to escape. Andy calmly tries to get the woman to cooperate but immediately gets stabbed on the chest. Amazingly, Andy simply pulls the knife out without even flinching.

It might look like she is used to the pain but Andy and her team make it clear that this is the part that doesn't really go away. "Just because you can't die don't mean you stop hurting," one of the men tells their new recruit. However, it isn't just the physical pain that they have to deal with.

It is later confirmed that as an immortal, one is faced with the dilemma of having their loved ones dying while they live on. Needless to say, this is the one part of the deal that Nile Freeman (KiKi Layne) isn't ready to sign up for.

The synopsis for The Old Guard reads as follows:

"Forever is harder than it looks. Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it's up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary."

The Old Guard will premiere on Netflix on July 10.
